Miles J. Purcell was later joined by Frank J. Picard in the 1920s, expanding the firm’s expertise and reach. The association with Ferdinand D. Heilman around 1935 marked another milestone for the firm, especially when John Purcell joined the practice to form Heilman & Purcell in 1938. This collaborative effort led to the firm becoming the exclusive representative for AAA in mid-Michigan.
Significant Associations and Transformations
The 1960s saw the association of George M. Tunison and Donald E. Cline, Sr., with the firm, rebranding it to Heilman, Purcell Tunison & Cline, P.C.. Paul Purcell’s association in 1975 and Mr. Heilman’s retirement in 1986 was pivotal, leading to the renaming of the firm to Purcell, Tunison & Cline, P.C.. The firm embraced its current name, Purcell, Tunison & Boardman, P.C., in 1995, following the associations of James Boardman in 1991 and the retirements and passings of some key members.
